He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end. - Ecclesiastes 3:11, NIV

I Don't Normally Do This, But...

Hey y'all,

I don't normally do this, but I thought it was worth it.  As you can remember wayyyy back, I posted a couple of sermons on this blog because I thought they were great.  Well, I recently listened to a sermon from the Village Church (yes, that would be Matt Chandler's church) and thought it was worth listening to, especially if you are a single something.  The sermon is actually by Matt Younger, one Matt Chandler's Associate Pastors....  I highly recommend listening to it!  Enjoy:

A Humble and United People

May we all NOT delay our own adolescence but accept the life God has for us.  Often times, this requires us to grow out of our own spiritual diapers and/or pull-ups and get on with taking responsibility, with the benefit of being spiritual growth.

Tim Keller puts it best when he says this:

Let's say you have a 5 year old son, and he asks you if he can go out and play. And you say, "Sure son, just stay close by the house and don't go too far since we are about to have dinner." Then let's fast forward time about 15 years.  Your son calls you up and asks you if he can go out and play.  And you say, "What's the matter with you?!  You know you don't have to call for that, you are 20 years old!  Of course you can.  Didn't I teach you anything?  You're a big boy now, you don't need to ask me."  Well God works similar to this.  God will teach you, to grow you, to give you more wisdom.  Perhaps one of the reasons God remains silent is for you to use the wisdom He has given you already - the wisdom in which you have asked of Him.
